Ingredients for making homemade French bread:

 ½ kilogram of wheat flour for bread (type 1 flour)

 10 grams of dry biological yeast

 1 tablespoon of sugar

 1 tablespoon of butter or softened margarine

 1 cup of warm water

 1 teaspoon of salt

How to make homemade French bread:

To make French bread at home, start by dissolving the yeast and sugar in water.

Tip: If you prefer to use fresh biological yeast you will need 3 tablets (30g).

In a large bowl place the flour, butter and salt and mix. Open a small hole in the center, place the water there and mix from the center outwards, kneading and kneading the dough well until smooth and ungluing.

Tip: If, after 5 minutes of kneading, the dough is still sticky, add more flour. If, on the other hand, the dough is too dry, add a little more water.

Shape the dough into a ball, cover with a cloth and let it rest for 1-2 hours.

Tip: If you put the dough in the sun or in a warm place, it will grow faster.

After the indicated time, take the dough and knead again, to remove the air from the fermentation. Separate into pieces, roll open and roll into cylinder shape. With a knife make a shallow cut, as in the photo.

Tip: In the bakery industry each piece of dough contains about 60g. You can use this weight as a measure to prepare your homemade bread.

Place the buns on a greased baking tray and let it rise for another 1 hour, so your bread will be fluffy! Finally, turn on the oven at 200ÂșC. When hot, brush the buns with a little water and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until golden.

Tip: Leave a space between each loaf so they can grow without sticking together. After the first 15 minutes of baking, spray or brush the buns with water to ensure that the crust is crispy.
